Round table Meeing

May 18, 2018 - Within the framework of the “Educational/Vocational Support for Syrian Refugee Children and Young People in Armenia” project, Mission Armenia organized a round-table meeting for the project beneficiaries - young people displaced from Syria and their parents, with representatives of district units of State Employment Service Agency, Ministry of Diaspora, KASA Swiss Humanitarian Foundation and World Vision Armenia. The topic of the discussion was job finding and employability. Additionally, the invitee stakeholders shared important information with the displaced young people from Syria on the current local labour market-related specific issues. The project is funded by the Swedish Postcode Foundation.

March 21, 2018- Moa Stenholm, Project Manager of the Swedish Postcode Foundation visited the Head Office of Mission Armenia. By the support and funding of Swedish Postcode Foundation Mission Armenia has been implementing an “Educational/Vocational Support for Syrian Refugee Children and Young People in Armenia” project. Several hundreds of schoolchildren and young people from displaced Syrian families benefit from after-school classes and vocational education support provided by the project team. Concurrently, the target families access dairy products and pastry as a nutritional supplementary support to project participants and their family members.

Elderly Care Home ?Artsvabuyn? Was Renovated Through the Grant Provided by the Japanese Government and Through the Contribution of Mr. Aghvan Hovsepyan

      Elderly Care Home ?Artsvabuyn?, that is located in the Artsvanik village of Syunik marz, henceforth, instead of 12 people, will render services to more than 40 lonely and homeless disabled people and elderly. The center provides 24-hour services to the elderly people; its works were resumed on 28th November in Artsvanik village.

   The refugees who live in Silikyan district and have benefited from Mission Armenia NGO?s social-healthcare services for about 11 years, have lots of memories to reflect on these days. They live with memories of their lost homelands to this day.
   Bitter memories of the Shahumyan deportation of 1992 and the sorrow in their hearts of the loss of dead relatives, the residents of Silikyan?s Norwegian district, both children and the aged, gathered today to remember their native homes, to glorify those heroes who perished during the protection of their fatherland, and whose memory became immortalized in the hearts of their compatriots.

Life in Avan Eldergarten


One of the Mission Armenia infrastructures is the Eldergarten or the social-rehabilitative center situated in Avan Arinj. This center in not an elderly home ? it is not a place where people over 60 stay for the night, it is a place where they gather, have dinner, communicate with each other and attend various groups of interest like shaping, dancing and singing. In other words the center creates all the conditions for making the lives of the elderly more interesting, diverse and productive.
